Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Have you ever questioned why those in world seemed to be more “blessed” than the children of God? I remember a time when I was upset at the fact that some of God’s children were lacking and struggling while the ungodly lived lavish lives. I saw people serving God with everything they had and yet, those same people were the ones who were in financial need, needed a healing, or lived in divided homes. Those Christians were suffering on every hand. I would see one who made it through one trial and was pushed into another trial. On the other hand, those who gambled, sold drugs, deceived people, committed sexual sins, were hypocrites and backsliders, and gossiped seemed to be living “the life” and they were living it well. I simply could not understand why God’s people lived in harsher conditions and experienced more troubles that the ungodly.
I had to understand that God’s judgments are just and that His eyes are upon everyone. Each man will reap what he has sown whether it is good or bad. That’s why He tells us to rest in Him and to wait patiently for Him because we will reap if we don’t faint and be discouraged by what we see. As believers, we can’t become jealous or envious of the wicked. Our hearts can not become vexed and bitter. Remember, the earth is Lord’s. Everything was created by God. Our Father owns everything! Although their gains may be ill-gotten, the wicked did not create the wealth and possession they have. So, rest in God’s goodness and wait patiently for Him. Thank Him for what He has already provided you. If you have food to eat, a roof over your head, clothes on your back, then you have something to thank God for. You may prefer different kinds of foods to eat, wish you had better clothes, or lived in a bigger house. Yet, you have to look at the blessings of God and see that He has still supplied your needs. There are people living all over this world who've yet had their basic needs met.
So, thank God for what you have and wait on God because He's working things out behind the scene just for you. The Word of God tells us that we should seek the Kingdom of God and all of these things will be added unto us. Don't read the scripture backwards by seeking the added things, then add God in the picture. Seek the Kingdom of God by asking for godly wisdom to use on your job and in your home with your family. While you seek Him, take time to love on Him through intimate moments of worship. Kneel at the feet of Jesus and devote some time to pure worship from your spirit. Pure worship is rest for the soul. It's in worship that you'll discover that He's all you need.
